Top 5 Weapons I Want in Battlefield 6

My wishlist of weapons I hope to see in Battlefield 6.

Over endless rounds in Battlefield, pub stomping and competitive play alike, a few weapons leave more than mere digital scars — they shape how matches feel, move, and end. Years of scrubbing conquest flags, lining up burst shots, and adapting to ever-changing meta taught me which guns rise above pure stats. This isn’t a list born from theorycraft — it’s forged in the grit of competitive firefights, among teams, brackets, and that silent moment before the drop. I’ve left off my BF3 go-to, the M16A3, because it’s a given. Instead, here are five weapons that not only defined my playstyle but also left a lasting impact on the Battlefield experience. These are the guns I want to see return in Battlefield 6, not just for nostalgia, but for the unique gameplay they bring to the table.

#1 - AEK-971

AEK-971

The AEK-971 is a Russian assault rifle that became a cult favourite in Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 for its blistering rate of fire and exceptional close-to-mid-range performance. Chambered in 5.45×39mm, the AEK boasts one of the fastest cyclic rates in its class, allowing skilled players to melt enemies in a fraction of a second. However, that raw speed comes at the cost of higher recoil, demanding tight burst control and careful handling to land shots at longer distances. In the hands of an aggressive assault player, the AEK-971 is a relentless room-clearing machine and one of the most feared weapons on the battlefield.

#2 - AN-94

AN-94

The AN-94 Abakan is a distinctive Russian assault rifle featured in Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 4, known for its unique two-round burst mechanic. In real life and in-game, the rifle’s “hyper-burst” fires two shots in incredibly quick succession before recoil is felt, giving it exceptional accuracy and damage potential in skilled hands. This makes the AN-94 deadly at medium to long ranges, especially when tapping the trigger to take advantage of its burst precision. While its slower overall rate of fire can put it at a disadvantage in close-quarters brawls, the Abakan rewards disciplined marksmanship and is a favourite among players who value control and precision over spray-and-pray tactics.

#3 - ACWR

ACWR

The ACWR is a versatile assault rifle that combines the best features of both the AEK-971 and the AN-94. With its balanced stats, it excels in a variety of combat situations, making it a popular choice among players who value adaptability. The ACWR’s modular design allows for extensive customization, enabling users to tailor their loadout to specific playstyles. Whether engaging in close-quarters battles or long-range skirmishes, the ACWR delivers reliable performance and a satisfying shooting experience.

#4 - Crossbow

Crossbow

The XBOW (crossbow) made its debut in Battlefield 3 as part of the Aftermath expansion, offering a silent but deadly ranged option for creative players. Built from scavenged parts in the game’s post-earthquake setting, the XBOW fires specialised bolts — from standard broadheads to explosive and scan bolts — each serving a unique tactical role. While it lacks the rate of fire and raw damage output of conventional firearms, its stealth, versatility, and novelty made it a fan-favourite tool for ambushes, recon work, and style points.

#5 - .44 Magnum

44 Magnum

The .44 Magnum in Battlefield is a hand cannon in every sense of the word — a slow-firing sidearm with thunderous stopping power. Favoured by players who value precision over volume of fire, the Magnum can drop an opponent in just one or two well-placed shots, even at medium range. Its heavy recoil and long reload time punish missed shots, but in the hands of a skilled head-clicker, it’s a reliable finisher and a satisfying statement piece on the battlefield.
